YOU CAN HELP MAKE A CHANGEIN the way we handle waste in AFRICA!

WORKS SO FAR

In Berekuso, where we are currently operating, TranSite has transformed a previous community dumpsite into a community park, creating a safe space for local youth to play.As our main strategy of attracting the youth, we have capitalised on the playground to educate local  youths on championing the values and habits of proper waste disposal. This project has engaged and encouraged people to sort their now-collected waste, allowing them to see that a sustainable community leads to a cleaner and healthier one. Additionally, TranSite helped identify an economic opportunity for recycling plastics and organic waste.

OUR LATEST EVENTS AND UPDATES

TranSite Merges With Ennvirolead to form Ahotew Sanitation Project

TranSite is pulling the youth together through sports to promote the habit of proper waste disposal. Over 500 young men and women participated in the initiation of the Ahotew Sanitation project. Everyone is excited to be part of a project that will make the Berekuso community the cleanest in the country. Ahotew (Cleanliness) is determined to not only make Berekuso clean but also create economic opportunities for the youth through innovations in waste management.

TranSite hosts the President of Connecticut College in US, Katherine Bergeron and a Process Improvement and Business Development expert from the University of Waterloo in Canada, Tom Stark.

we were glad to know that our visitors were fascinated with what we are doing and applauded our works.

WHAT WE DO

TranSite is a project that uses sports to promote the habit of proper waste disposal as well as effective waste management. The project does this by first retrieving lands that are used as dumpsites and transforming them into playgrounds for the youth in the community. As people are engaged on the land, they serve as watchdogs against people who try to dump refuse on the land. Also, a portion of the retrieved land is used as the site for collecting sorted waste from the community. Thus, the youth are engaged as they collect plastic wastes and sell to recycling firms and also make compost out of the organic waste.
